About the Breathing for the Soul Foundation
The "Légzéssel a Lélekért Alápítvány" was created to improve the well-being of respiratory patients and their healers. Our goal was to enable our chronic respiratory patients to move freely in the world. Let's introduce tools and methods that improve patients' quality of life, comfort, state of mind, and social relationships, and to strengthen and support the level of knowledge and dedication of their nurses while preventing burnout. The essence of this concept is that in the course of the disease, all patients and healing and therapeutic team members are equal, and everyone's voice must be heard. Based on this idea, we organized a conference, organized an exhibition, and published a book (Miklós Szilvia-Déri Artner: Nurses). At first, we performed at medical congresses and celebrations, and later we performed at the concert of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Parliament House, the MOM cult event center, and our first independent all-night performance, Aria Libera, was presented in 2022 in the AKG theater. As part of our concerts, approx. We sang 150 patients from 4 pulmonary hospitals in the country using the SingLung method developed for this purpose. In recent years, we have also been joined by people who have experienced COVID and those with cardiovascular disease. According to our intention, with the help of our method, the workload of the patients working with us increases, and with the artistic inspiration, their isolation caused by their need for oxygen is reduced. The members of the Choir change, and the permanent core is provided by the patients from Törökbalint who also participated in the first event. But among the members are patients from larger patient organizations (Pulmonary Fibrosis Association, COPD patients' organization). The Foundation has already made the patients of Országos Korányi, Mátraházi State Hospital, Törökbálinti and Farkasgyepüi Lung Hospital participate in rehabilitation sing. Unfortunately, many choir members can no longer be with us. We always start the first rehearsal with them in mind.
